The Alpha Corsair..

Ok, Just came in.. Am I the first consumer to get one...??? Ok, here goes....thats cool.

First observations. A beautiful Corsair. Finish is A1. AUW barebones is 5oz. on the nose..The wing at fuse mate perfectly and 1 plastic screw does the job. The forward section of the lower fuse is all plastic, as is the top and bottom sections mid wing. Hard plastic points at the gear locations. The plane will contact the ground here when landing. might want to paint on a thin layer of thinned epoxy here to preserve the painted plastic.. This plane should take all of 4 hours to have flight ready. However, My other half would beat me severly should I not be towed along at local malls this day. Tonight my dear, stay away.

Some pics, I will post as we go..and give my 2 cents..

Pilot,
Plane looks good from here and typical Alfa quality. Sounds like you will have her together tonight. Will look forward to postings possibly this evening. Mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I have had delivery problems with Fed Ex though in the last week so will cross my fingers that they don't screw this one up. The weather should be nice here today and tomorrow but they are predicting a good snow storm Xmas eve and Xmas day. If that is true wont be able to maiden until the end of the week. Good Luck with the build and
HAPPY FLYING!!!

Aaah,.... I needed that! Got a cigarette?

I'll be watching closely. It looks great! Mine should be here shortly too. I'll be going the more stock route first,.... Speed 350, 5;1 MPJ gearbox, 8- 720Nimh (Lipos soon there after).

Looks great Pilot44. Would a TP 3s Lipo fit in it? If you can, pls take some pics of the nose area where the motor will be mounted. I would like to see if a MP jet brushless motor would work in it.

Thanks

This is what I did for guts:

25/25/26MP jet 5:1GB
CC 25 esc
FMA M5 receiver
Kokam 7.4 1500mah (at balance point ready to fly)
Hitec 55 Micro Servos..
9X4.7SF APC prop (needs the black paint treatment wit da yellow tip)
AUW ready to fly....Just under 14oz. by half ounce or so..

Waitin on Jim McPhersons, Lightanttannaeeee..(I hate it when I see that nasty trailing wire)

I used a piece of pop stick for the rear elevator bracing of servo...they made the hole to big for the 55. ..whats up with that.. The components are fastened with supplied velcro strips. I chose to fasten the battery pack in like fashion..they won't come loose lessen ya smash er...then don really matter, do it...

She's purty though... First chance, up she goes..

I'm shot.. questions anyone....? Stay tuned...
