New foamy EDF
Well it is foam and it is powered by EDF'S so I guess it belongs here.
It's an old GWS BN Islander that has been in the basement for about 10 years. I came across it the other day and powered it up just for kicks.
One motor ran in fits and starts, the other didn't run at all.
Looking around the basement I found a pair of GWS fans. Where the came from or when I got them, haven't a clue. They appear to be brand new, never used.
Haven't flown it yet, too windy today. The BN weighs just 1 lb and the two motors produce a blistering 158 watts of power on a 3S x 1350 mAhr TP pack, drawing a total of 13 amps. With 216 sq.inch area, the wing loading is 10.7 oz./sq.ft. and the watts/lb is 158. Should fly OK I think.
