That is so cool. How have you got your packs placed with this set up ? Would you be able to post a couple of photos ?

Hi Mark,

That was hauling a$$! It was level for a loooong time after the dive anyway. When the guys set records of over 200mph with ducted fans 20 years ago they were from a dive if I am not mistaken.

Yes it was.... Knowing how to go really high, dive down and come out of the dive as smoothly as possible without killing any speed was part of the fun

It was not about whose fan is faster, it was about who can make the plane pass the fastest, both via equipment and technique.

Garland Hamilton set the record back then a 249mph

Sorry, dont feel that coming out a dive is a fair way of measuring top speed.

But dont get me wrong, the vid was still cool.

Iagree, for me I prefer flat and level but this was a chance to burn one as fast as possible ;-)

Also, on a side note, flat and level runs require a good 2,000 to 3,000' run up, many fields simply don't have an open and clear area on both sides of the runway for flat and level runs, this was also that case here. In the end, both "flat and level" and "from a dive" have a purpose, take it for what you feel it's worth but that Electra was hauling the mail! Oh, BTW, that Electra of Rob's is production #2, how's that for durability?! ;-)

I guess when you are talking "fast as possible" then a dive is the way to go.

I really like the new red spark paint scheme.

To bad the spark is an ugly plane next to the electra. Does not matter how you paint it its still a spark.

Gun, when I said "spark" I was refering to the Electra paint scheme name which is not even called spark (it's called sparky), but the one I really referred to is the Red/Silver/White scheme (sorry had a brain fart).

Ahh yes the sparky scheme. Its named after a former BVM emplyees plane. Chuck was the one that painted his plane like that and it became an ARF scheme.

Chuck was the man. He is the one that help get me started in the EDF stuff. To bad he is still not around.
