Source for metric screws/bolts < 2mm?

Does anybody know of a good source for metric hardware that is smaller than 2mm? My LHSs only stock bolts / nuts / screws that are larger than 2mm in dia.

The few places on line that carry miniature < 2mm seem to only sell in huge lots.

Thanks

Hello buzzme,

Did you phone a couple of the nearest "nuts and bolts" suppliers near you before posting?

A local supplier in the city here happens to be called "Nuts and Bolts". Another is called "Fasteners". Both carry from size #2 and larger. Not enough demand for smaller sizes.

Building friendship witht the guys behind the counter and needing only 6 screws and nuts 2-56 x 1/2 inch long, they will just give them to you (me) since the company policy is to have minimum invoices of $25.00

They cannot make an invoice for 60 cents.

Use your phone, be nice, and see if they can help. They are likely to know who might supply sizes smaller than #2 or 2 mm.

A #2 screw has a dia of 0.082 inch.
A 2 mm screw has a dia of 0.078 (0.079) inch.

What are you making or repairing? Swiss wrist watches?

Good luck,

Zor

Small screws, small quantities

Try these people out. Very nice selection for all kinds of small hardware.

Are you looking for a specific size and pitch to fit an old application? I got a handy-dandy metric pitch gauge for free years ago, and one thing seems certain, is that no one is consistant with threads.

"Oh, dat looks like a 0.8 but whoops, it is finer than that I now see."

I may be wrong, but 1.6 is smaller than 2.
