Onya Charlie,
So what aspects of this great hobby interest you? power , slope , Thermal ?? each one of these topic's can be extremely addictive . I personally have only in my modelling career met 4 women who wanted to learn to fly radio 2 have been power and 2 slope flyers . Each one just as capable as any other student I have taught. hope to see you post more often . SteveW |

My apologies for jumping to a fast conclusion also but we have been suffering from a spamathon lately . Sorry dont know of any threads by women apart from a couple in the States over on the slope forum which is where I spend most of my time as I only fly slope now and have done for the past 15 years or so ,I'm in here most days as well. Women pilots are a rare breed and I wish you all the luck with your flying I wish more women could enjoy it ..

Hi Charlie,
there isn't to many women flying around Australia, but those that do seem to have as much or more fun than us blokes. There used to be a couple of Female Glider pilots from Sydney that used to compete a fair bit and I have flown overseas against a few even at world championships. If you havn't tried it yet get someone to show you how to do some slope soaring, there is some great spots around Adelaide, Hallet Cove, Maslins (just don't look down ) and back up in the hills there is a heap of spots or around Goolwa works as well.Have fun Tim |

Charlie,
Welcome to RC Groups. Yes, we are a minority, but we make up for that by graceful flying, and having more fun than the blokes do. I fly thermal and slope gliders south of Sydney, and have been for about a year and a half now. I love flying, and when I'm bored, love building them. Show us some piccies of your plane! Cheers, - bec |
