Sbach 342 Hybrid Foamie Opinions Wanted!
Hey have you guys flown these before? I was given a few of these by Aerobeez and I gotta admit I really like it! I know now (after I made the review) that a couple other companies are selling these but Id like YOUR thoughts and first impressions.
Do you think this is a good way for 3D foamies to go? Admittedly its not as durable as others because of the Balsa but its pretty darn rigged! Im not the best 3D pilot so im not sure.
Let me know what you guys think!

Sbaaa? It's S-bock, like Johann Sebastian Bach.
Aerobeez didn't make this plane. They just put their name on someone else's work. This is most definitely NOT the first hybrid plane on the market. I'd say at least a dozen or more came before it.
Landing gear: Of course the landing gear mount is going to break when you land it in shaggy, clumpy grass with wheel pants installed over small wheels. It does the exact same thing on balsa aircraft when they aren't set up properly for grass landings too. I see it week after week after week at the field. This should be common knowledge for any pilot who has ever attempted to land on grass even once. Every grass landing in your video that resulted in broken gear had wheel pants on. You can't really blame the plane if the pilot who built it didn't set it up properly for landing on grass.
After hundreds of good, bad and harrier runway landings plus a few grass landings at fun flies with larger 2.25" wheels installed, my carbon fiber landing gear is still right where I bolted it when I built it and has never budged. There are dozens of videos of this plane landing roughly in grass located in this thread. It isn't really a problem when you set the plane up for grass landings.
I guess Aerobeez doesn't include or offer the wire landing gear solution designed for this plane.
Sorry man. This is not a review that I can trust. It takes too long to get past the flashing lights at the beginning and then starts off with wrong information. Your one major complaint was the broken gear mount but neither of the planes was set up for grass landing at all. It seems no research was done to see who actually makes this plane or the history of these hybrids. A simple search of EPP Sbachs in this very forum would have been a great place to start.
Good quality video though. Keep it up but please put a little more effort into the facts and a little more thought into the setup for your flying field.
