I'm finding out the same thing about the HK droppers - gonna have to figure out a different way.
Got to wondering - has anybody tested/reported here just how much payload the stock Mule can carry?

In an HK video a guy flys the Mule with 3 eggs in the dropper. That's all I know about payload.

On a different note - fitted some Dynam spinners. Changes the look a bit?

Had to trim off the back of the backplate and use a washer to get a good seat.

Eric.

At what speed? My fpv mule weighed in at 2.5 kg (2x 3s3000mah) before i decided to retired it as a fpv platform. Hoeveri i have two sk3 3536 1050kv motors on mine. So it has a crazy amount of thrust (running 4s now without the fpv gear, expecting it to fall apart midair this season).

SkyMule on 4s (7 min 30 sec)

With enough motor power it will probably fly at 4kg.Though landings and takeoffs will be interesting due to a extreme stall speed.

Thanks for the link, Gerry! How exactly have you done this? What materials did you used for the doors? Could you post some photos of the mounting? Thanks!

Those look great. I never was a fan of the foamy ones that come stock. I did the same with 2 in. Dubro spinners. I wish that I had found those Dynam ones as they look a lot more like the ones on the airframe I'm copying.

Well, then it can fly at 5-6kg, assuming you have a runway where landing and takeoff is possible at 150km/h?

Some boosters would also help.

Regardless, a stock mule will handle 2.5kg-3kg. But expect it to be severely lacking in the thrust department.

Yes - the STOCK mule -- those were the key words. Thank you!
Have no idea why all the other 'stuff' came into it. And yes, I know what to expect when a plane is loaded down....thank you again.

Id start with slowly adding wieght to the stock mule. and then feel how it is in the air.
My stock motors died fairly fast, so im running sk3s now.
With the stockers its going to need a bit of runway to takeoff at 2.5 kg. Well, depending on what kind of runway it is. Might not take of from a rough grass patch, but would easily get airborne on paved ground.
