Question
What size casing dose a Estes Motors - C6-7 have?

Hi folks can someone please confirm the size of a Estes C6-7 The website I'm looking at is a bit confusing, It gives two possibilities 18mm*70mm or 24mm*70mm. Which one is it???

I'm working on a rocket design in Solidworks and hope to get it 3d printed.
I haven't done anything like this before so if you have any personal experience with this could you share any pictures or info you have.
Particularly interested in what wall thickness and infill to use on a 3d printed rocket.

Thanks

C6-7 is 18 mm X 70 mm. C11-5 are 24 mm X 70 mm The C11 motors came about for rockets designed for D motors when you have a smaller recovery area.

Your on pioneering ground, other than a few fairings or nose cones not much in the way of whole rockets has been done. I would think the limited size of 3D printed parts is the reason. Your rocket would need to be printed in segments then assembled. So why not!

Please post this project as it goes along. I think there might be a lot of interest developed in time.

Im really not trying to climb a mountain here. I just want something simple

Iv found it is better to start small with 3D printing at lest until you know what your doing It's easy and quick to go back to "The drawing board'
The printing is outsourced.
Small=cheap

Thanks Bob.

Iv finished the design and sent the filies to get 3d printed. The guy I use to 3d print has a short turnaround time. The rocket is very simple, no recovery system. having built a few rockets by hand Im looking forward to not have to glue the fins on by hand=)

If this one flyes any good then I what to design a recovery system(RS). Give you people have a lot more experience then I will ask. How would you build a RS for a 3dp rocket?

The rocket stands 330mm tall has an OD of 32mm I used different infills for all three parts. As I under it its better to have a heavy nose for stability it will be interesting to see how strong it is
