Fuse mounted Louvers for Cooling

Hello,

Does any RC Supplier have an assortment of misc sized Plastic or Metal louvers

that can be attached to the Sides of a Balsa or Fiberglass Fuse for cooling ???

I've checked my Elec pwrd Gliders from time to time and when the Air Temp is 95/100 , things get a little Warm in the Mtr/Esc department.

Please let me know, Thanks rcroger

NACA scoops work a lot better than louvers (unless you are in Virginia...)

4.00 for a sheet - great product and very useful.

Sounds odd but I use plastic spoons, I cut off the spoon a bit from the handle and they come in many colors and cheap

True, spoons can work. The NACA scoops do not project into the airstream which causes drag.

In the end, Use what makes you happy.

One can make a near equivalent of the NACA scoop using a bit from a plastic spoon on the inside of the fuse. Don't forget your exit hole. The general rule of thumb is to have twice the exit area as the scoop. I have also found that some 1/8" diameter holes in the motor mount that line up with the holes in the motor are a great help. That forces the air through the motor instead of around it.

Cheers!
