loose motor

Picked up a used FMS FW-190 and the motor is loose. It's easy to wiggle up, down, left and right. I was going to remove the motor and motor mount and build a plywood box to fit in the recess and hopefully reinforce the firewall and steady the motor once it's reinstalled. Sound like a reasonable plan ? Thanks

Yeah, though this is a great bird, the firewall and strut legs are weaknesses that require attention. Check out the FW-190 thread; I've recently linked my firewall replacement and someone elses as well. I used two glued sheets of thin ply that I glassed and then gorilla glued in. I installed the new, bigger wall from the top by removing the foam under the plastic top of the cowl.
