Dave's right, don't forget about the min voltage on the sensors. Telefunken used to do some lowish voltage ones as do others I'm sure. Personnaly unless you REALLY need the ultimate in light weight it is better to use the DC-DC, it avoids a lot of headaches and interference.

You can "easily" make etched pcbs at home with fine details but it is more expensive to set up and takes time to fine tune. I used laser star paper, a light box and decent presensitised PCB. You need LOADS of pressure between pcb and art work and then a decent developer. You can't go wrong in the etch stage if it developes right.

Which of these is more suitable for 9t-36t + 12t-60t gear box?

MK04S-10 4mm*8mm Pager 10ohm 0.6mm shaft
or
MK04-10 4mm*11mm Pager 13ohm 0.7mm shaft

I'm guessing the 10 ohm will draw more current but
produce more thrust with a 40ma lipoly.

Does anyone have a comparrison of the 2 motors?

IR Tx upgrade

I dont think we need 15 IR emmitors to set up the plane on the work bench do you? Uses lots of power
So I have just fitted one emitor to my Tx which runs when the Tx is switched on. The other 15 are switched seperatly.
Also in a big hall you can probably test a plane on your table without shooting anyone else down? I will try on Saturday at our fun fly.
I have also addededdd a fuse and diode to avoid charging the cells backwards.
Just a thought.

Where can I find a parts list for the infrared reciever and a site where I can get parts? I am very interested. Also can you convert this to a 4 channel or is it only made for a 2 channel operation. Also what kind of esc would I use/ or is it just 2 channels no throttle just on and off??

Billy, didel has info on these motors, gearing and props.
I think didel show the 11mm motor produces 2 grams more thrust.

Mark, great idea.

Sean, parts list page 17 DIY IR, find in index.
Unit is three channel, includes esc.

Thanks for the motor info. I only searched here. Didnt think about the Didel site. I have addedded some red painty to me plugs to keep from charging them backwards. This helps my plug dislexia.
I havent plugged anything up backwards since.

I contacted a professional PCB manufacturing company to make pcbs for this IR project, the first batch with 10 pcbs made on 0.02mm glass epoxy board would cost Rs1200 thats abt 25-30$ once the film is done it would be cheaper, ther are also capble of making this double sided with 0.02mm pcb if there is enough interest here I can get around 25-30 made and send all you guys interested one each, but just for myself it would not work out well
If any one can design double sided track layout then the size can be made smaller and the enire cost can be divided among all with no profit no loss basis

No worries billy.
You missed a track under mosfet.
I have done another drawing but file is a little to big, can't post it yet, have to work out how to make it a bit smaller.

Clipclop, BC547.
Bits in timer will be useful.

Stewart,

My printer is out of action at the moment, therefore I have not been able to check drawing. If there is any problems, something doesn't fit properly, could you please let me know, thanks.

I'm hoping drawing can be printed and used for etching.

Those using a knife could possibly print layout on paper, stick to pcb, use knife to mark tracks, remove paper and finish cutting.
