Been a bit inactive on the boating side of things, building a few full sized ones and rewiring a cruising cat after hours

Up coming events:-
Sunday 15th March 8.00 am to approx 3.00 pm

We are having a Combined Clubs Day. There will be a full BBQ at 12 noon. The cost is $5.00 per person. Please
Pre-Pay your lunch ticket to Maria. This is NOT MEMBERS ONLY as first said.

EARTH HOUR IN THE PARK: Saturday 28th March.

A free BBQ.
Live music.
The Bat Conservation & Rescue Trailer (featuring 1-3 live bats in a cage for people to look at and learn).
A display run by the Logan Food Gardeners who can provide advice on growing fruit and veggies at home.
A "Light Bike" which is basically an exercise bike connected up to some different lights to educate the public about the benefits of energy efficient lights.
A display with general environmental education materials from council.

There will also be a LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOP for people to make a lantern and then they will be floated on the lake. If you or your family are interested in making a lantern you have to book:
environment@logan.qld.gov.au or phone 3413 4491.
Lights-off for Earth Hour is from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. (Council has advertised the events from 5.30pm to 8.30pm)
The Lantern Making Workshop will be held on the Big Table in front of the pontoon and we will use the smaller table with folding table from the shed for our members. Please remember to bring your torches and lights for your boats.

Please pass the information onto any members you are in contact with that do not have the internet. I will also put
a print out on the notice board.

Quick question for the Tygum folks,

Where did Piercey procure the hull for the jumbo Heung Long tug? I've looked around and can't find anything like it in that size range. Or is the hull a DiY FRP jobbie?

Cheers,
Mike

I certainly am, modern style and large enough to fit the thrusters I'm producing as per my build thread:

https://www.bluerobotics.com/forums/...0-t200-series/

The larger of the two Heung Long style tugs fits the bill, those that I believe are owned by "Piercey".

Edit:

Dug further back and answered my own question. Scratch-built, but his own design or did he track down some decent plans?
