I think straight epoxy is good..I tack mine in place with Ca,then lay in a nice fillet around the perimeter.
Layout the holes for the motor prior to installing the firewall..
While you are at it ,make extra firewalls for other applications..leave them big,you can turn them down in a drill motor for a perfect fit...
How snug should it be without glue? Should it fit tight in the fuse before glue?

I have the stock firewall out by the way, trimmed it up and it's ready for a new one.

For my motor mount I...

1) dremel the old mount to weaken it.
2) punch it out with a hammer and screw driver.
3) make a new one to size (~39mm dia) out of the thickest plywood possible (for my P32 it is 1/4" ply). Circuit board also works great in this position, as mentioned.
4) drill out motor holes.
5) mount motor.
6) Wrap motor in wax paper or tape.
7) apply a fair amount of JB Weld epoxy to the mount and to the position it will sit in the fuse.
8) slide the mount/motor assembly forward through the wing getting as little on the inside of the fuse and you fingers as possible.
9) Roughly position and pull forward so it is a tight fit
10) apply a large fillet of epoxy to the area available (avoid you motor or gb shaft)
11) Mount spinner and set final alignment so it is level with the front of the fuse (unless you want down/right thrust).
12) hang upside down and allow to set for at least 14 hrs (24 is best!)

this has held up to 2400W in my Siren and 1500W in my Escape.

thanks for the detailed info Kid.

This is one of the handful of jobs in this hobby I have been avoiding, but I am determined to get this right. Better the Siren to practice on over my new Flash II Carbon. I had a professional make me one for that beauty... David Hauch

I like epoxy between the mount and nose, so a nice tight fit, but then pull it out, run a bead around the edge, then push it back in. You want a fillet on both the front and back sides..

Backside? How would that be effective? You can't apply after it's in place.

Well, compliments of my nice brand new Turnigy 3s-2200 45/90C, I got to try 6s with my Siren today at the AMA field in Muncie Indiana. To say I was blown away would be an understatment! The collective flight line was giggling after launch. Vertical speeds I would assume were around 110-120mph. I believe this takes the Siren into true "hotliner" catagory.

This is around 2200W of power. And it takes the Siren to true "spec" height in a mature of 3 seconds. Andy, I will get a video tomorrow and post it just for you in the following days. I think you will agree it looks like 2200W this time!

Wow, and I though It was booking it at 900w.

I have been flying it with the ARC 36-55-1.5 for the past week. It's an entire different experience from the Turnigy motor.

HS-81 for the ailerons (marginal, but they appear to be working).
Hs-56HB in the tail (I think this is it, though it may be a 65, its been so long since I put it it!)

so far i've had nothing but positive control and never flutter

I'm using 56's on ailerons and a 55 on tail. I'm thinking an upgrade may be in order, but before power, I'd need to do something about those servos! No problems on ~1000W though..
