Still a brushed motor, that's disappointing.

No kidding! why wouldn't they take it into this decade and abandon the long outdated geared motor.

They may be fearful that with Safe AND Brushless gear, they'll eat into Apprentice sales too much.

Maybe, but by the same token, now it competes with the Delta Ray. Nothing wrong with offering choices that compete for the same market share. Doesn't matter if you sell a S15e, Super Cub S, or a Delta Ray, you're still the one selling planes.

With HH bringing to market tech like AS3X and SAFE, I can't see why they would still have brushed motors on their larger trainers.

Just a guess, but the current brushed setup results in a slow docile flyer that is better suited to a beginners abilities. A lot of people, including me, have done a brushless conversion for increased speed and power.

Some of us like the geared motor. Throw on a non stock esc and a larger prop and this thing will hang on the prop, I've got video of it hovering to prove it.

And I thought I was the only one who liked the stock motor and gearbox , especially the sound of it .
