I don't see how you can see why it failed. I have been much further away than I was with 2 micros and this plane for many hours of flight, never with a problem.

There is zero chance this was a range/distance/power issue.

Which oranges are we talking?

Official HH Orange?

Orange HH clones?

HobbyKing Orange?

There's several orange style rx's.

I've got that orange in two planes, had a crash not too long ago, not sure if was due to brownout, signal loss, or a failed push rod. Since I can't track it down and say "you did it", I ordered a satellite for it and am beefing up the push rods.

Didn't have the presence of mind after the crash to see if the rx was blinking before disconnecting the battery. Otherwise I've gotten good use out of it, at varying ranges and altitudes. Even within 1000 yards of high tension wires.

Mine hit so hard I didn't even bring the TX along on the walk of shame... I should have, the battery was still connected.

I am not sure, but I don't *think* the red LED was on on the BEC, but I could have missed it.

Idk why, but I feel that the orange rx's are more prone to interferance. I've flown my t-28 till I could hardly see it and a field w an orange, no problem. Another feild about 100 yards away and signal loss, twice with one plane and once with anothers. Flying the same plane same spot same distance with a 6115e and zero problems. Just my observations. But I say using all spectrum stuff I've never had one single problem.

If I get a nice plane it will have a better RX, at least something that will center the controls.

The R610 center for me every time.

I will put a genuine HH RX in my balsa Trainer .40 though.

the real problem is that dsm2 is old tech. we need a fhss system like dsmx. if u fly in a noisy 2.4ghz environment, u can have 2 sats on a genuine spektrum dsm2 rx and it might fail. i had only 1 lock out ever and it was on a 6ch orange in a very noisy 2.4ghz environment. spektrum just came out with the ar400 4ch dsmx rx for $30 +tax which anybody can get at every lhs. this is extremely competitive in PRICE to the $20 +shipping for a dsm2 6ch orange. i really think that it's a no brainer to get the ar400 dsmx vs any orange if u only need up to 4ch. hk will really need to step up their game to develop a dsmx rx asap. i'm sure they have noticed the decline of orange sales as i alone have just purchased 3 ar400's where in the past i would have probably gone with orange. i think hk will lose the simple parkflyer (vampire, zephyr, dynamic s, ryan sta, all the wings etc to just name a few in their flagship durafly line) market back to spektrum. now if hk made stuff like the vampire with a rudder, that could be a stop gap measure to make ppl want to have 5+ch. PLEASE HOBBYKING, MAKE A DSMX ORANGE RX. for eveybody's benefit (except spektrum of course)
