I couldn't get my NOBS A123 to fit in the nose.........never thought about cutting out the brace in the canopy hatch. That was a good idea.........
Your battery is a couple inches further forward than mine. I guess I saved the weight with smaller servos........Hitec 225's for the rudder and elevator, Hitec 81 and 82's for the airlerons and spoilers and a HD 1501 for the tow release. The HD is a pretty heavy metal gear servo......and it's the furthest forward so that should have helped.
Regardless, these planes build light and have a very light wing loading.....they should be impressive glideing machines.
