Yes, i had to use a heat gun. However if you remove the motor sticker, this will allow the shim to slide right on. FP made them to perfect spec of the od can. its the thickness of the branded logo that keeps it from not sliding.. Thats all......

I agree removing the sticker would be easier than heating up the ring. Besides my motor has a stamp stating what kv it is. No worries on my end if I remove it.

Sure you can remove the sticker. Mine is a simple 5200kv SP yet its has no id but the only on the sticker. Some have the white painted numbers of 17t or 18t on the motors. Eitherway, its not as if we have a bunch of cheats racing. Most if not all are honest. But my point was, I wanted to install my shim without doing anything to the motor. The heatgun just allowed the motor to drop right on in. If you wish remove the sticker be sure you have someway,,,,,, incase you get tech'd,,,,,,, to prove it is a 5200kv or less.

I thought all the 17 and 18s had the white lettering. Am I wrong? Mine does.
