Enjoyed mine too...but it eventually threw a magnet as well. I bought it before the warning against using it for 3D was posted. I felt it had great power though.

Yeah, in guessing these guys have never tried that motor if they feel it was underpowered. Hahaa

Or maybe you both have different opinions on what is "plenty of power."

I know guys who think a 74 edge on 8S is fine and others who think it is pointless until you get to 12S.

There is no exact answer when it comes to what one feels is "enough power"

I know if I tried to fly some of Scott Stoops 3DHS 30cc planes that were setup on 6S I would feel they are under powered and I couldn't do 3D with them. But with Scott behind the sticks that 6S plane will do any 3D move.

I agree with camoy, my buddy flies the crap out of his 6s 30cc setups and enjoys them, but for me they are boring and sluggish. I like running 12s for 30cc planes and 6s for 60"ers.

it's easier to over-prop and get a boat load more power from higher voltage, but "boring and sluggish" can be removed from 6S with a higher Kv motor and a higher current draw... I've had insane power on 6S and 8S. there's three parts to the equation: voltage, Kv, load (prop) ...all three can be tweaked to achieve happiness. If you have good 6S packs (voltage), no reason you can't get ballistic power from tweaking the other two parts of the equation.

Sure, I have done a boat load of testing and your points are true to a certain extent. To put it simply your not going to get 3000+ watts out of a 6s 580 gram AUW motor without running into heat issues. On 12s, 3000 watts is about 67.5 amps depending on where your voltage is. On 6s, the same 3000 watts is just over 135amps. My peaks on my 12s 30cc setups are pushing about 72~73 amps peak which translates to 144-146amps on a 6s setup. It really isn't going to happen with the 550-650g motors we use in the 10-11lb planes with the current motors on the market right now.

I bought a 3625 from Ken, and loved it. So I wanted to buy another for my red SC. But Ken had had some issues with the 25 and was prototyping the 3615 and 3620. I bought both and slapped the 3620 on the second SC . It didn't cut it at all, Way to big for the 51'' it sat on my shelf until AJ came out with the super light 56 Laser, with a 14x7.

I agree we all have our preferences, in my experience it wasn't enough, especially with a 15" prop.
