E-flite® F4U-4 Corsair 1.2m Bind-N-Fly® Basic

The 18-cylinder radial engine hung on the first Chance Vought Corsair cranked out an awe-inspiring 2,000-horse power. Later versions could develop 2,380-horse power, which meant more ammo could be packed in and hung on. Better still, those 380 extra horses meant that facing the enemy and making it back home was far more likely. With the new E-flite® F4U-4 Corsair 1.2m Bind-N-Fly® Basic you can have that powerful feeling with an RC recreation in U.S. Marine Corps VMFT-20 training squadron colors.

A big four-blade propeller, functional three-panel flaps, electric 90-degree rotating retracts and muscular outlines are just the highlights of its authentic feature list. Construction with Z-Foam™ material keeps the overall weight low and delivers a level of airframe durability that’s ideal for everyday flying. But the exclusive feature that makes this definitive warbird the choice for your everyday flying is AS3X™ technology. That’s because the compact Spektrum™ AR636A DSMX® receiver installed features an AS3X system that’s specially tuned to give you rock-solid flight performance similar to the experience you’d have with an expertly set up model many more times its size. Whether you’re an intermediate or advanced pilot, this Corsair is a sure to help you enjoy what flying a one-of-a-kind warbird is all about.

Hi Chuck,

Haven't seen you in a while. Any chance that you will have an early model for your typical box opening and first flight analysis?

The scheme turned me off. I wouldn't want to bother to repaint it, though I suppose one could.
I know it's been done to death, but give me a good ol' version of Pappy's #86.

I just don't understand the logic of using a paint scheme from a post-war training platform.

There were plenty of great looking Marines corsairs that actually saw action.

Why does the SAFE version of the Corsair have a combat paint scheme and the non-SAFE version has a trainer paint scheme?

So the trainer isn't a trainer and the non-trainer's a trainer.

Makes sense!

It's ugly.

Price is decent, though.

I'll admit the scheme doesn't do much for me; I know I could paint it but I don't think I really need another project just now. I'm sure it will be a quality plane, though, and I'm happy for the guys who'll enjoy it!

More Cubs and More Corsairs. Sucks to be anyone looking for something different. So many Historic aircraft. And yet they rehash the same old stuff.

What if they did a Race 57? $10 says you'd think otherwise

So sick of the same old warplanes.

A Corsair is nearly as played out as a P51.

Give me something SWEET!

We're a tough bunch here on RCG..! How many times have we been told that what meets the eye of J.Q. Public is what HH is going for -- SALES.

What I've been dismissing, as well as lots of others here, is what the large hobby shop chains stock and what sells for them. They are who have the strongest input to HH I suspect and who greet J.Q. P. on a daily basis and have a feel for what will be appealing.

So, here's this new Corsair with a snazzy new paint scheme that's fresh and new. Much more attention getting than the over-done scheme of Boyington's airplane. Hello, a new offering, new bread and butter..!

On a different track, somehow, the F4U-4s have come into a dominant status among the makers. I really like all Corsairs but it makes me wonder. Dynam, FMS, Unique Models (sold by H-K), Durafly, and now this one. I suppose it could have to do with the slightly longer nose, easier to balance.

You'd think they'd be willing to do something different tho. Even if it's something that's still commonly modeled.

Look at the Durafly Spitfire. The entire first batch sold out in 20 minutes in all warehouses..

The demand is there. Build it and they will come.
