I wonder if a 12s Aeroplayin power system would work here

Very nice. Like to see this in the 60" range in the future. Hint, hint.

I mailed 3DHS days ago about this, asking when it would be available to UK buyers, but no response! My UK supplier says it's not even on his product order sheet yet! May well have to go for the EF 78" kiddie as I don't want to wait until 2015 to start flying. Does anyone know if the 75" is over the SFG wing tips, or across the wing sans SFGs?

Unfortunately, we can only speculate until 3DHS decides that it's time to open a 'discussion' thread about this planes. As with every company I buy from, we will probably not hear much about this plane until then.

At the end of this year, the market will be flush with 71-78 inch planes from both 3DHS and EF. The 78 Extra and the 76-83 inch MXS from EF is available here now. Not sure about the UK. The MXS is really 76 inches without the tips and 83 with them, and the fuse is 78 inches with a split stab on a tube, so it is really a bigger plane. My 78 Extra has a 76 inch fuse. I'm guessing this is 75 total wingspan with the tips, and maybe a 69 to 71 inch fuse, which means it may fit in the back of the SUV along side my 74 Edge, which has a 69 inch fuse.

Just a guess, but I think it's a close one.

Thanks Aeroplayin

There's still no sign of the EF 78" either, even though my supplier said it would be here a week ago! In the meantime, I've been offered a mint condition Great Planes 81" Yak 54 with a DLE-55 in it. Does anyone have any experience with this model please?

That's really an older design.... 81 wingspan with a 68 inch fuse and a 1138 sq-in wing area. That will fly nothing like the 3DHS planes, and it would be well worth the wait for 3DHS and/or EF to restock. That plane could come in at 15.25+ pounds, so 1138 sq-in wing area is a 31 wing loading and an 11 cube loading. Maybe if you want to fly IMAC sequences with it, but as a 3D airframe, it's chunky, to be kind. My 74 Edge with a 69 inch fuse has a 23 WL and an 8.3 cube loading, and I'm getting 278 Watts per pound with easily available 600g motors. 15.25 pounds will need 4200W for that king of power loading, and you'll need a 950g motor to pull that off. I doubt you'll get a 68 inch fuse to balance with that weight on the nose along with the required battery capacity for anything close to 6 minutes. Make your own decisions, but I'd never consider those numbers for 3D.

And I was going to order a Velox. I think I'll wait for the white, black, and yellow. Sick!
