Really cool. Cars should be banned from urban agglomerations and be replaced by those Flyers.

Messerschmitts are cool!
No they're not, bubble version like a sauna in sunny weather. Oh sorry, you're from Finland so a relaxation vehicle to you??

Always fancied one despite crap engine. A firm in the UK resurrected the design but fitted a 250cc Honda twin electric start.

Regards Ian.

I once owned a Heinkel Kabine.

Apart from beeing a great "fun" vehicle with canvas roof, it also included certain "bonuses", such as a very high noise level (in the "cockpit"), a defroster that just barely was able to defrost anything......and even the shortest trip on winter roads was raised to an adrenaline boosting adventure....

Its 200 cc (10HP) single cylinder OHV engine with electric start, was indeed a very good one....and so was the 4-speed gearbox with reverse gear.

I have quite a few of them, in 3 different dimensions. I found these in my fathers' tool shop. Unboxed so no brand name...

Veron Deacon

The word "deacon" is AFAIK the title of a religious leader, or a chairman of some sort.....
I've always found this beeing a slightly odd name of a model aeroplane....
Does this word have more meanings that I am not aware of...?

Please enlighten me...

[The Cardinal (a butterfly), makes much more sense to me...]

Bosse, First of all. I think you're right. I'm not aware of any other meaning.
A Deacon could hardly be called a "religious leader", rather a "church official".
I think Phil Smith possibly had the intention of naming a series of models after religious dignitaries, Deacon, Cardinal, etc. (one wonders how this may have affected sales in Ireland...!).
I've often wondered whether it could have been in "opposition" to Bill Dean's KK series of Pirate, Bandit, Outlaw (restoring aeromodelling respectability!).
