Project: Building a New Wasp Nano Cpx/ Super CP frame

As all us WNCPX owners know, It flys really well but its durability is crap and while the tail asembly is extreamly durable and the head can be replaced with a skyartec metal head or a minicp head you are stuck with the stock frame.

Since i have accsess to a 3d printer and a cnc laser cutter i have decided to re-engeneer the main frame and servo holder.

Goals:

1. Make the frame more crash resistant
2. Eliminate flex and resonances present at high headspeeds with my hp07
3. Enable the use of minicp skids in addition to wncpx skids
4. Alow for 2.5mm and 2.0mm tail booms
5. Avoid incresing the mass to mutch
6. Avoid having to Resolder the tail motor wires when changing the boom
7. Alow the use of gyro tape to dampen the board

Nice to have:

1. Compataility with mini/super cp boards to enable a super cp build with better (skyartec) servos
2. Same mass as a mini cp frame (might be unrealistic)

Heres what i have so far unfinished and the servo holder is not made yet:

Red: Skyartec Parts
Green: ABS Printed parts
Gray: laser cut parts

The laser cut parts will be made of abs for starts but i would like to make them Glass fibre composit, but i dont have accsess to a water jet at the moment

Im open to all comments and sugestions, especially regarding a good mounting option for the esc.

Stay tuned, thanks.

I have decided to not allow for 2mm booms. The servo holder is now 50% complete and some other bits:

Here we are, first prototype assembled. Sadly there are some clearance issues with the main gear. Prototype 2 is already in the works. As is the prototype weighs in a 3.8g not so bad. But im looking to save some weight for prototype 2.

Thanks for the kind words. Im hopeing to have this thing flying by the end of the week

Im also thinking of selling them as kits if there is any interest, as it stands they schould work well for super/ mini cp helis too (with skyartec servos).
