I still fly a tricopter but it is MWC. Thought about going to a quad, but everyone flys a quad.
As to the camera stuff, they buy the off-the-shelf multis that will wipe your bum for you if you buy the option. I laugh at their expensive crap and feel good about still being under a hundred all up. And flying just as good.

I have multiwi on my tricopter. Need to look for a newer version. It's still being developed I hope? I think I have 2.0 or 2.1, not sure.
I don't fly FPC. Just like a normal model aircraft.

So true. I actually did a couple of paid jobs using the Signguy's ccpm rate gyros setup. That was 4 years ago. My next tri will probably be APM based but minus the GPS of course.

I have a kk2 version, a cc3d version (needs tweaking) and an Apm one that I yanked the Apm off of. Looking to do another controller on it. Tried a naze32 and didn't like it. Still need to figure it out. Would like to do professional grade with gps gimbal etc to get professional quality video, but need a good stable controller first. Maybe a pixihawk?

The Paris 5.0 controller from www.multiwiicopter.com is an awesome controller. It has GPS and a built in OSD for FPV. Very stable too.
