Question
speed 280 equivalent motor?

Can someone tell me if a speed 280 is equivalent to a e flite 280 brushless on 3 cells? For a Herr mini sport. I would build with 4 channel and 3.5 g servos so it might be a bit more weight than the specs noted.

Don't know about the equivalence but that motor: http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/De...rodID=EFLM1140 will give you all the power you need on 3s. About 88.8 watts.
So, 127-178 watts/lb for the 0.5-0.7 lb AUW range.

thanks, I'm still plenty green on current elecritic power systems. I thought the speed 280 might be a dated brushed direct drive motor.
I have a e flite edge 540 qq that would be the donor for the electronics and power system. That RTF with 450mAh was 8 oz.

The Graupner Speed 280 has a Kv of 2333 so something in that range would would work.
