I had purchased a 1509 2y 1820kv motor from Offshore Electronics Inc. on Feb.6 2012. With the way the weather has been and work, i had not had the time to run my cars, but as of last Sunday I got the chance to bring them out for some fun. I did some research before buying this particular motor and found that this is the same motor Nic Case won his speed record with on 8 cells lipo. I was a bit afraid to jump straight out on 8 cells so i used a 6 cell 40c 5000 lipo battery geared at 22/50. I ran the car (mugen mrx4) 3 times back and fourth for about 60ft out to warm the batteries, on the 4th run i throttled harder, at least close to full throttle and the motor smoked out instantly, All i run in my cars are Neu motors and castle esc's so i don't know what could had happened. I contacted Offshore and they sent me a email that I have, that said it is a motor that is rated for 4cells lipo, this can't be possible because on the Neu motor web site motor chart, it says that the 1509 1820kv motor is rated for 33 volts ????

Send the motor in and we will check it out. There is a link on the web site for "repairs" with the shipping information and a sheet to print and send with the motor.
