Thunder Tiger F-8F Bearcat

Well i did a search and found nothing hear so i decided to start a thread.I bought the TT F-8F today and started the building /modding Looks like a nice kit, every thing was there except the Elev pushrod ...but i have one more place to look for it. I may put retracts in this, and i'm putting a rudder and tail wheel steering.I'm cutting a little bit of foam out here and there and drilling a few more lighting holes. It came with a 292809 BL motor, and 4 blade prop, and i got it on sale at Smith Bros. hobbies in Lancaster Ca. I'll put up some pics tomarrow if i get a chance.

I have one in a box as well. This kit needs retracts, I will be interested to see how you install. Which motor did you get with the kit? I bought the one with the brushless outrunner.

Bearcat

Here is mine....got it with the outrunner.......and a 4 bladed prop...flies well for around 8 minutes in a 1050mA 3 cell Lipo...She is a bit 'twitchy' with little or no dihedral and no washout...but fun to fly.........I sprayed mine with matt acrylic varnish and did some weathering........just for fun........

Wrong plane. They are talking about the small electric version, not the large Gas Bearcat.

Where did you buy yours? Most shops only carry the Rare bear.

How does the 4 blade prop perform? Can you say fast or just scale?

I would say 'scale' speed, loops from level flight, flies with authority but not that fast...seems to hit a wall ! if you get my meaning, fast but no faster...Im happy with it. Pleasantly suprised.
Got it from my LMS in Holland ....sorry no real help there.
For most multi bladed aeroplanes I use the Varioprop varaiable pitch propellors.........very good they are too...if a little pricey !!!

Wow Warbird your looks sweet ...what do you guys mean by saying it flies a bit twitchy ...is it over senitive? or just not very stable? RETRACTS ...well i work on them this moring and got one side figured out.i made mine a bit longer than the kits as the real one had really long legs and if i put a bigger motor and prop i'll have clearance. mine came with the OBL "Ripper" 2928 09 motor.i got to put some pics up. Rodger....PS Bird how much does your "cat" weigh?

Hi, Just back from weighing the little Bearcat, 519 grams...thats 18.3 ozs in real money......When I say 'twitchy' what I mean is she won't keep her wings level on her own...you have to fly her all the time...not as bad as it may sound...its quite fun......no inherant problems..you just get used to it....
Retracts sounds nice, but Im lazy and feel that for this plane it would not be worth the bother, but as I say , Im lazy !
