A new P-38 on the horizon?

I regret missing out on the FMS P-38 as I was not in the hobby while it was available.
Has anyone heard of any rumors of a manufacturer making a new one?

P-38s don't seem to last long in the market due to technical gripes that come with each approach.

There has been the occasional speculation of who might do one up next but, alas, nothing I've seen suggests any thing new about to be revealed in the foreseeable future in a size larger than the current available format from the basic JPower model that has been revamped some and sold by Tower Hobbies.

I believe a new approach needs to be taken on the fitting of the batteries, perhaps in wing bays along side of and including some space in the gondola, near the leading edge.

If you're willing to indulge learning some skills at modification, the Tower offering is the only one close to your desire. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFCJX&P=0

Thanks for the replies and good news fellas!
gnats82- I can certainly understand the engineering issues with the P38's layout.
Seems it would require a large model to engineer well and to a good level of scale detail considering the size of the narrow gondola and the thin booms.

I recently had a brief bout of unfulfilled p-38 sickness..... and noticed about the only candidates are from towerhobbies and gws.

Someone either needs to offer an 800mm p-38 or a 1200mm p-38 with wings that are removable for transport.
