I am almost too ashamed to put pictures up as it is a mess to look at as I haven't made it look tidy. I thought I would be happy with it being 1s but I wasn't so I made it 2s with a brushed tail last night. Will test today. It really is just a muckaround as my two hcp100s birds fly great. My main mission is getting used to my new 450 as I have only ever flown micros.

I would think the HCP100S frame is heavier so would need 2s

450 are way easier than micros, just carry a bigger danger to life and property, with a penalty on wallet, and rebuild time in exchange for flight time if you crash.
Great for adrenalin rush for close calls

My HCP100S is showing up on tracking, may see it Friday.

Yea I've trash it to death and it's still holding up, I'm on my second actually coz the first proto got it's D slot totally ripped out in a crash but the gear teeth were still great.

I was saving one last green "bolt" main gear from the V922 days and I was cherishing it in it's unopened envelope. I put it on my HCP100s and the first binding was not done right resulting in "the shakes" and a mild crash on the carpet that already split the D-hole. Grrrrr... It's still useable though but... damn!

Simple main gear mod

So guys here's my version of the ultra simple way of doing the double up main gear using just a hobby/ Xacto knive, tailoring thread and some CA to put everything together. Hopes this helps for those having a hard time with the 100S eating up main gears.

Let's start off with 2 main gears, I'm recycling 2 from my junk parts box which have missing teeth. The left gear will be the top gear and the right gear will be the lower gear.

Cut off the bottom spacer ring from the top gear and the D slot from the lower gear. I like to sand down both the gear surface with some #300 grit sandpaper but you can get by without. You need to trim off half of the spacer ring from the lower gear as well, leaving something slightly less than 1mm but you dun need to be extremely precise about this just leave some material there for the gear to ride on the lower bearing race.

Just do a test fit to see how the gear would mate on the main shaft so there'd be no surprises when you CA them together. Be sure you get no main shaft play here.

Take off the top gear and lay a little CA on the bottom gear, no need to put too much here and make sure you dun get any on the gear teeth or else you'd ruin them and get a bad mesh to the motor pinion.

Sandwich on the top gear and leave to dry for a few minutes.

This next step is the most important to make sure this mod works flawlessly. Wind and tie down a few rounds of tailoring thread on the top gear D slot and wick a little CA on there to really strengthen the weak D slot of the stock main gears.

Trim off the small excess off the top of the D slot and install the screw on the main shaft end.

This is how it'd fit with the motor pinion, flush and full engagement with both the gears and a small gap from the bottom gear to the frame.
