Definately an idea worth considering. I have no problem helping people, becasue I'm sure that at some point I'll need help too. But the CG discussion come up at least every five pages so if you read ANY part of the thread, you'd find it.

Whats everyones weight for their plane? Going to weigh mine right now.

Just weighed mine its 3.8 pounds. Is that heavy or is that about what most people are at? Thanks for the help!

I could be off... I guess I should have asked... what's the range people are seeing for the SW setup for FPV flights? Just seems some of the dual battery 4-5kmAh setups could be pretty hefty.

6 pounds holy cow! I dont think my 4 cell 920kv motor would haul that thing around.

If you have a 5Ah 3S batt 30 mins should be no problem, 45 mins if you are careful and maybe more.

I'm flying a 5Ah 4S with a little 3S for video Tx etc and it still flies nice and smooth. I'm impressed with the way this bird just trucks along despite the weight.

I have a 4000mah 4 cell with a 800mah 3 cell for the video. The video will last about an hour or so havnt tested the flight time with the battery. Im going to maiden her tonight.

I'm contemplating buying a flight stabilisation system and an OSD for the first time and was wondering if there's a concensus amongst skywalker users regarding which is considered the best between the FY and Eagle Tree systems.

Top priority for me is KISS (keep it simple cos I'm stupid ;-)) and implementing a bang on reliable RTH method for in case I ever lose radio contact especially for when flying over the sea which (living on an island only half a mile across) I do all the time.

On the face of it the FY solution looks quite boring, is a wee bit cheaper, and appears to meet the KISS criteria... I mean I do only need an AP117 and an FY21 AP to implement full stabilisation and RTH, right?

But on the other hand the eagle tree solution has some really nice bells and whistles such as waypoint marking, dual RTH altitude setting, plus the google earth displaying of logged data... but being a complete newbie to flight stabilisation and osd it's giving me headaches regarding exactly what ET components I'd need and what I wouldn't.

FY = AP117 + FY21 AP..... right?


Eagle Tree = OSD Pro + OSD PRO Expander + eLogger V4 + the Guardian... right?


Does anyone have any recomendations for a complete newbie please? Its quite an outlay of cash and if I can get it right first time it'd be great. :-)
