What cub is this? 105" WS

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out who made this cub so I can get a replacement windscreen. I picked it up from a friend of mine who has had it hanging from a ceiling for a couple decades. All I can really say is it has a 105" ws and is old, fabric covered, and completely awesome.

From the pics it looks like a 1/4 Sig cub. most Cubs of this size the windscreen is made from flat stock. The pattern is on the plans if you can find one Other than that get some poster board and cut to fit then make one from clear flat stock

I would go with sig too. I have two busa 1/4 scale cubs and the cabin area is built different than sig. I'm pretty sure that is not busa. A picture of the tail section and how the ailerons are set up might help.

The Sig doesn't have the opening window and door on the right side the BUSA does

This one has an opening window on right side but not the door. I'll get some pictures of the rest of it to see if that helps.

Sig Cub. The bulkhead behind the windscreen is the clue.

The opening window would be a mod.

You don't "get" the windscreen. You make it -from flat plastic stock, as the others have said.

What you do get is the manual, direct off the web, from Sig. In the very last pages you will find a printed template to cut the windscreen from the mentioned flat plastic stock.

Make your template by trial and error trimming until you are satisfied with the fit, then cut that shape from the plastic sheet. Attach with your favorite method. The manual describes how to do it as well.

Not hard although a bit fiddly to get it to match your particular plane.

The minute I saw it I said SIG 1/4 scale. The construction matches it to a T.

Nice find, definitely a sig... from the looks of it, it has the 2 piece wing mod, which sig should have done originally... I've got a 15 year old sig cub I'm restoring and modifying the wing into a 2 piece / fixed center section (same as yours)... you'll enjoy it, no doubt about it.

My sig the wing splits on one side of the fuse not on both sides. the wing is the top of the fuse. So unless they made 2 designs its not sig.. or it was a mod...maybe

Its a Modification turbonut... the wing is built in three separate pieces, right wing - center section - and left wing... the center section is then glued onto the upper fuselage and reinforced... you can either use the plywood brace, or utilize a wing tube... I don't recall where the Mod originated, but it's better than the 2 piece / bolt on wing sig originally had... it works very similar to the Hangar 9 1/4 Cub wing attachment.

I have the sig plans-I can send you a copy of the w/s pattern, if you like.
The pattern still needs trimming to be an exact fit for your model.

PM your mailing address....I'll mail you a copy.
