Brodak Oriental ARC

Please recommend an engine for this model.
I am thinking O.S. .46 LA-S
Also thinking lots of other engines.
Recommendation?
Fox .35?
O.S. .40
It seems on the bench with the .46 LA I am consuming about one oz per minute. With a 4 oz tank (recommended by Brodak plans) that is a 4 minute flight at best...not long enough. I can look at a bigger tank, of course.

Seems the .46 has plenty of power. I saw a video of someone flying the Oriental with the O.S. 46 and lap time was about 4 seconds; pretty fast.

Friend had an Oriental ARC, and it looked pretty good to me. If I were to build one, I would install a Fox stunt 35, the engine it was designed for. Back when I was flying, I could fly the pattern with 4 sec lap times, but slower than that is better if the airplane and engine are happy. Around 5 sec is the usual recommendation. A four oz tank is pretty standard for a Fox.

Jim; I was thinking of using the Fox. I have four of them. I can keep it light. I am old school. I appreciate the recommendation. I will go with the Fox. I can use the .46 for something else.

Fox 35 likes 35-40oz... the OS Max 35S likes up to 45 oz... My own experience with the LA 46 has been not as good as I had hoped, I have not given up on this engine... it could have been my fuel ... the Brodak 40 is impressive. Lap time is a funny thing... if the plane is heavy then you will have to fly it on shorter lines at a faster speed... my own Oriental weighs 43oz, I am using 59 ft eye to eye lines and lap times are right around 5-5.1 sec per lap.. I ended up using a 10x6 TF Power Prop. The LA 46 is a lot of engine compared to the little 35S... I was using a Dixon FP 40 in my Humongous with no problems... my best score in Advanced was made on a Dolphin that had gone lean and was flying what I would estimate to be 4.5 sec laps.. go figure...
