HK YAK55 42in.

Hi All,

I have a HK Yak55 and really like the plane. I have upgraded the servos to 12gram metal gear E-flites and they seem to handle the job really well. I run a 45amp Dual Sky ESC and use 3s 1800mah 20-40C lipos coupled with a Turnigy park 480 and 10 x 4.7 slow flyer prop, however the motor doesn't seem to be liking this combo very much and I think it is going to cook itself very shortly. I have a E-flite power 15 out runner that I'm not using, and I'm wondering if I could use this even though the weight is alot more than the park 480? Or should I just use a smaller c rated battery? I'm hoping that someone out there can help me with this one. Thanks guys.

Best Regards,

Kaiser76

Well I have and EF park 480 with about the same setup but with a 40amp ESC with 2000 and 2100 3s probably 20c and it works fine. I would think the HK 480 would be better then the power 15. I would say try changing the prop but 10 x 4.7 is right according to the 480 specs. If you already have the power 15 try it out. I was going to use the hk 480 in the same Yak55 but havent gotten that far with the build... I keep putting other projects before it.
