What about ESCs? Hobbyking red brick 40A or 50A a good match?

I was using a 40A on mine before swapping it out for a 1400kv (in my EZ) - still use the 40

Edit:

I've been looking all morning for the source of those 'squash bottle plastic' belly protectors.

Can any kind soul point me to the vendor again please? (they were about $15 each I think)

My 2826-6-2200KV draws 26 Amps at WOT and I'm using a 35 Amp (40 burst) ESC. Figure on an ESC that is rated for 15 to 20% more then you'll need.

Here's how I did my Bixler motor mount. Scanning this thread, I haven't seen it done exactly this way so I thought I would post it.

I took the stock wood block, glued a 1/8" ply disk to it, and added 4 bamboo skewer "bolts" to tie the whole thing together. I sanded a flat on the end of the motor pod to match and glued the whole unit in with white GG. Before I glued it in I opened up the wiring chase a bit and took out most of what seemed excessive side thrust.

Pictured are two motors I thinking about. RC-timer CF2812 1535 KV (7" prop) or a Suppo 2212-6 (6" prop). I've run both on a Polaris.

Very good. Someone makes a laser cut one that's similar but I will be darned if I can find it.

Cool ESC cooling

Lower temp = less amps = more flight time

The Brixler

Name: brixler.jpg
Views: 139
Size: 117.8 KB
Description:

Here is a pic of my "Brixler" Isn't she a beauty?
underside wingtips are painted black

I bought the rtf version which I now, after 2 months in rc regret. Should have bought the kit version.

Mods / replacements:

30A hobbyking blueseries esc
APC 6x4EP prop
All servos replaced with HXT900 servos
4mm CF rod under fuselage (this was mistake, should have used 2.5 or 3mm)
3m dual lock to hold wings together
Dubro pushrod guide added to support rudder pushrod
replaced stock control horns with Kawan micro horns
stock wing spar reinforced with solid cf rod
Replaced stock aileron pushrod/clevis with dubro pushrods & nylon clevis
Packing tape reinforced belly / hinges / underside of wings
Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3s lipo

Next step is the flaps and maybe add some cf rods to wings and tail, then she's pretty much done.

So whats left is the stock 6ch receiver and motor.

BH - new 800mm Skysurfer-esque glider???

Yes, technically off topic but definitely relevant. Looks like it has potential. Currently advertised as RTF. Hope it comes in a ARF at some point - might be worth a shot. Obviously part of BH's new FMS offerings. Does anyone know if this exact FMS model is being offered by anyone else?
