One problem of electric flying is that it is tough to meet people in your area. I wish you could search the "member" directory for people near you.

Thanks

We are working on that very feature.

Please go to "My R/C Groups" and edit your profile to include your latitude and longitude. You will notice that we have provided a link which will allow us to make a guess at your latitude and longitude based on your IP number.

I didn't know they broke up IPs by geographical location?

They don't, but there is a database that includes enough information to make some reasonable guesses. It won't be able to determine your exact location based on your specific IP, but it will probably be able to find out where your ISP is located. Logically, you will probably be near your ISP.

I tested the script and it seems to work pretty well about 80% of the time.

(for me, if showed I was in california somewhere.. But many of the map** web sites will give you your location - just go to mapblast.com, type in just your zip code, and it comes back with the geographical center of that zip, lattitude and longitude displayed above the map)..

Jim,.. take a look at the heli-pilot locator at

http://p-locate.rc-helipad.com/

Would take some time to setup for the rcgroups members due to the large membership, but this locator has served the heli community wonderfully, and it grows every year.
