I must admit that I have thought of using a gyro ,but never got around to bying one. I think that it may be worth a try. I do like your model..........Flying in the snow..  Happy landings Chris |

I had a few more flights by now and can say, it flies definitely stable.
It can be flown "hands off" easily! It performs "hands off" parachute type landings as well. If you fly it to 10-15m and cut the power, it simply floats down to a not too soft but acceptable landing. There is not much control during the floating phase, but you can apply power short befor landing and go on with the flight. |

Just wanted to show a new video.
Meanwhile I removed the gyro and it flies just as stable and hands off. Only in gusty winds you see a clear difference. I have much fun flying it without.

Hi,
you are fully right, my flying style is probably far from scale flying. With regard to the loop I would like to point to the excerpt from the book "Autogiro" by George Townson shown below. O.K. mine isīnt a PCA-2  The modell is even more of an indoor flyer than a park flyer. Since I am not member of a club have not many chances to fly big modells. Still I am thinking about a bigger one including prerotation and I thought about jumpstart as well. btw. how big is "60 size"? is it rotor diameter in inch? As rotor head I was thinking about a 3 blade flybarless head from a 450 size heli with function reduced to collective pitch. That would make a modell sized roughly 1.5 times the one I have. Still there is not much more than a few ideas. Werner |
