My grill surface is 36 x 48 in, the fire rack is 2.5 inches from the bottom. And the cooking surface is 8 inches above that.I have a sliding door on one end for dampining and a 3 inch pipe with adjustable flue on top. Welded together to my specs. Fully adjustable and controllable. It cooks so good the welder started making them for others.

Best 100 dollars I ever spent.

One thing I just learned --- Don't buy a BGE from Sam's Club. Sam's Club is NOT a registered dealer and BGE will NOT honor the warranty of a BGE bought from Sam's Club.

Makes no sense to me but that's the way it is. Make sure you buy a BGE from an official dealer or no warranty.
