Where is Maltone Hiding.....?

Just on the off-chance someone wonders what I'm doing (no building posts etc) my wife and I have decided to move house so many will understand all that process entails. We are rather bad hoarders of 'stuff' so am going through the painful process of deciding what to throw out and what to put into storage. I'll keeping the bare bones of my current workshop intact but any real construction work on my various projects has come to a grinding halt....... Since we will be shifting to a another city, it will be a major move. But I'll be back and at least making the odd comment on other's threads over the next few months (whether they want them or not )
Now you'll understand why I've been disposing of models over the last few months.......

Good luck with the move mate. I look forward to seeing you building again in the not too distant future.
Just do me one favour, ditch those camp looking wooden dummies.

That's a sappy comment, but maybe a grain of truth in it.

IIRC, "Maltone" has to do with your present address. Will you change identities once settled elsewhere?

Best of luck with this onerous task!

Funny, I was just wondering where you had gone! Not heading back over the Tasman to Aoteroa, eh?

Folks - firstly, being retired and no family at home, we can do the move as un-stressfully as possible (if moving house can ever be unstressful!)
We are moving about 60 km away to the nearby small 'city' of Goulburn - along the highway to Sydney. Why? we've lived in a town-house for the last 6 years and have decided 'strata' or 'body-corporate' living is not for us. Too many restrictions on what can and cannot be done to the house, and no room for a decent workshop. Goulburn is is the oldest inland city in Australia (but still only 150 years!) and has many beautiful old houses, churches, parks etc. It is still cold in winter but it has a thriving local model club so all is not lost. I have my eyes on a fully renovated old house, with 3 car garaging PLUS a separate workshop! But that is away in the future - currently all effort is on storing un-neded stuff to get ready for a sales campaign (hopefully short). I'll keep you posted.
The name 'Malone' was from a previous house so I may have to change me label
Cheers Pat (back to boxes)

Sounds like a very positive change, Pat. Pity I am a ocean away, I know where you could unload some of your stuff. :-)

Regards,
Jeff

Pat,

As one who's moved 13 times in 25 years of marriage (and still going strong), I wish you and the missus as smooth and uneventful a move as possible. We'll all miss your builds until you're back in the saddle...

Pat, Best wishes for a good move. Looks like a very interesting town. I love the brick architecture.
