This is as far as I go till the wing dihedral is set with an epoxied root. The part "WF" must be fabricated in order to start the windscreen and I need the wing to finish WF.

Yea! Good thing he reminded me to do that. We had discussed it a while back. It fits nice and tight. I considering putting a piano wire hold-down pin through the firewall.

I picked up the saw to begin cutting-up the wing. I'll pick up some nerves this weekend...

Time to kick it up a notch. I realized, given the predicament I put myself in, that using a good-stiff, old-style hand saw would be the safest bet to cut the ailerons/flaps. I will need to do a bit more sanding than I wanted. I wanted to use my table saw, but that was just too risky. I will trim the cutoff with it though.

Intense cut's man Look's good ,Keep up the good work.I'm starting to read on radio systems. At some point we will have to decide what suits our needs best.I also have been looking at diamond servos,They have servos that meet or surpass hi tech for a lot less.

The Resurrection

From the ashes of deep despair comes the desire to fly among raptors. Plus a good excuse to buy a new radio.

Now I kind of wish I would have found this thread before I started on the hatch on my Kadet MKII conversion. My hatch is similar to the one that was shown but didn't turn out as good.

Details of my power system/conversion. In retrospect I was really close but would have been better if I would have went with a Rimfire .46 and probably a 5S 2600-3000 mah lipo instead seeing as I needed 3.5 ounces in the nose to get it to balance.

- Rimfire .32
- 4S 3300 mah lipos
- Castle ICE 75 ESC
- Futaba 6EX
- standard Airtronics servos on elevator and rudder
- 1 Hitec HS-255mg on each aileron
- converted to taildragger with 1 Futaba s3114 steering the tailwheel
- re-covered in Ultracote

I forgot to mention larger ailerons as well as the conversion to 1 servo per each aileron.

Hi Davo777,

Personally, the only thing I see that needs upgrading is the motor on yours. The Rimfire .46 should give you much better performance. The .32 is to small, in my opinion. You would like it much better, I assure you. The upgrade should be quick and easy.

If done properly, the taildragger conversion makes the Kadet fly much better, I think. Mine was much more maneuverable, while also being smoother. Some day I will finish my third one.

Don
