I literally have about 8 70mm EDF's doing absolutely nothing, so a 70mm jet would be great to get. This already has reinforcement in the wings,E-retracts, and flaps all for $200. The Habu 2 I've owned and like, but it's way overpriced (over $400 after adding retracts and flaps) for what you get, but that's just my opinion. So, this is a great competitor to the Habu and at much more inexpensive price point (half). Now, the decals are poop, but I'll remove them and paint the jet. I'm excited for this jet to hit the market.

I wonder how it flies compared to the Habu as far as speed and performance.

Wow I can't believe how bored I've gotten with all these Habu clones.

Haha, yeah, this thing is relatively inexpensive and will be fun to throw around. Pete has a point though about the looks. It would be nice to see something unique and also more sleek.

I agree about the larger aircraft. The good thing about 70's for me is that even though they are harder to see since they are small, they can be made decently fast for cheap. Ha-ha.

What motor/fan do you add to get to decently fast? Sounds like 100A from above so I'd guess some high blade fan but it's good to know combos that have worked for others.

I have a bunch of Sapac MB1 EDF/Motor combo's left from when they were still being sold. On 5S, they do fantastic. They draw roughly around 100A on 5S. I also have some high amp. 4S setups I never used like an HET EDF/fan with a an ARC 28-48-1. All my fan units are 5 blade, as they do real well on the speed envelope. They may not sound as good, but I don't care. There are definitely lots of options for 70mm EDF units and appropriate motors.

The cost of making a 70mm airframe like the the Habu or Meteor "wickedly fast" can be better spent on a 90mm jet. The would make an awesome first edf and uses readily available and cheap 4s 2200 lipos.

I saw this one a couple of days ago and thought briefly about it. Then came to my senses since I already have a Habu 2 (with Hobby King retracts HET 6904 2W20) that I've been contemplating giving away to get it out of my way. Would rather spend the money on a 90 mm sized one.

Yeah, that's the rough part.....spending money of this versus something else because for only a hundred dollars more, I would rather get one of the 80mm jets in the Freewing line-up (like the Mirage ). Then, a person could spend a little more dough and with one of their 90mm jets. If I got this Rebel jet, it would be to just use all the 70mm stuff I have laying around already.
