speed control

Hi Guys
I am running my floating device on a brushless motor, but it will not be remote controlled, speed will be operated by hand, in that case do I get a special ESC
or do I just get a regular one and plug it into some kind of turn knob speed controller
instead of the server? thanks

I would imagine that a servo tester might be able to run a standard brushless ESC at a fixed setting.

Thanks I haven't thought of that, that could work. I been chasing dimmer switches and trying to work out how to connect them, but I guess easiest solution is the one you think of last!
