The baby came on the 14th, Valentine Baby, so the boat is sidelined for a little bit. I was able to build a canopy for it and everything has wood filler on it. Just need to get it sanded down

I also took strips of heavy fiberglass and fiberglassed down the entire center seem. I started polyurethaning the whole inside as well.

Fiberglass

I fiberglassed the inside of the hull where the seem is in the middle. I also sprayed the inside with polyurethane completely. I sanded down the canopy, pictures to come.

I would put foam in every pocket that will not be utilized for equipment, but that's me. If those are little air pockets down the seam, you will want to get rid of those. Other than that, looks like she is coming along nicely, good job!

And congratulations on the new member of the family!

More Foam

I have packed the front with as much foam as I can. Now it is time to seal up the front.

part ordered

Hey everyone I just ordered the stinger for this boat. Check it out.

I am wondering how would I know how long to get the flex shaft in?

How is it measured? Overall length, or the length that is just the flex shaft part that does not run through the stinger?

Talk to you guys soon
Thanks

Best thing to do is order it long and cut it to length after you see how much is needed. I usually get the motor placed along with stuffing tube. Put the prop dog on the prop shaft and slide it all the way in. Measure the distance from the back of the stinger to the front of the prop dog. Subtract 3/16" from that and cut that amount off the front of the cable.

How do you cut it and keep it from fraying? Also does it need a square on the end of it?

I use a dremel with a cut off wheel to cut them. Haven't seen one fray so far. After I get the right length, I do add a little silver solder to the end. If you are using a typical electric motor coupler it does not need a square end.

ok so I think it is going to be about 7" from the transom. If I order a 17" flex cable I can just cut it done to size and silver solder the end of it.
