Usually I set the motor angle and the C/G where the plans recommend it.
Then I fly the plane and trim it level at medium cruse speed.
I then bring it down and see if the elevator is level or not.
If its about level, the the C/G is usually ok.
The I launch it again and put it into level medium cruse speed and then hit full power to see how much it climbs. With any power increase, it should climb some.
If it climbs too much, then I shim the motor down a bit and try it again.
If when you first launch it and it climbs like crazy, with the elevator trimmed level, then let it get up there a bit and chop the power to see if it glides slightly down as it should. If it glides at a down angle(as it should with the elevator trimmed level), then the motor angle needs to be lowered.
