ya its custom made. I modeled it after a palfinger knuckle boom crane . It has two fergeli l6 r/c actuators that what looks rams on the crane . the gripper is a hitec metal gear micro servo and it's hooked to a custom gripper frame. The crane can lift a full bottle of windex.lol so that… about ? 2 pounds? Its fun to play with.

The man truck it self has a working dump bed not working on that day but I also had to take the second front axle out it was killing the servo and was really hard to make all the wheels track straight . So its 6wd drive now.

the truck is 1/10 scale so its about 3 foot long 31" and 10 " high 1.9 wheels 55t crawler motor 3s batt castle sidewinder esc castle bec futaba t6j radio so everything works on one radio but the gripper and dump bed share channel i just unplug the one i don't want to use lol . i guess there a better way of running all that stuff but for now it works. and also thinking of putting the second front axle on again but with an open diff and its own servo

I love the Unimog. The crane is very cool too. I've been meaning to make a small rescue boat with something similar, but much lighter and probably just using small servos.

I've never seen actuators like that before. Only tiny little ones on indoor planes.

there pretty cool . but they are kind of pricey 80$ for one! almost 200$ for two! i need one more for the exstending part of the top boom but trying to buy wheels for the real car right now

I'm curious about how those actuators work. I assume they're not just a solenoid, i.e. a moving magnet inside a coil. I imagine there's a geared motor in there, but the shape makes me wonder. Maybe a worm gear pushing a sliding rack?

they have a gear drive. with a screw on the rod. the gear drive/motor turns the screw and the pushes the rod up and down. the screw it self is a kind of a gear but the gear motor is like the ones in the 3racing motors

My AX10 on 3S Lipo and four wheel steering.
This is me practicing coordinating the steering.

I use a regular heli radio.
Throttle is throttle.
Rudder is rear steering.
Aileron is front steering.

Thanks! it's the tamiya hilux body on an axial scx10 frame with a custom wheelbase, I have no clue what the wheel base is in all honesty

....and LaPine too!....linda and i enjoy trail running with our club CORCRC, located in BEND Oregon....we had 40 trucks show up at our last GTG. We also have a lengthy scale trail built out back that is kinda like a forest trail winding thru and up and around the many natural obstacles.

.....today took the guys down an old train track to some trestles that have seen some better days....
