Help!
RTF Motor comparisons?

I got a number of indoor wrecks and have stripped out the equipment. I like scratch building and was puzzling over the power comparisons of my motors. I am hoping someone can rank my power systems, (motor and gearbox), so I can figure out suitable indoor projects.

E-flite Extra 300

4-Site

Vapor

Mosquito

original SU-26

T-28 Trojan

Flyzone Albatros

(I got one of the Albatros kits and still grin every time I fly it!)

Thanks,

Martin

There are basically 2 different HH UM micro 8.4mm motors:

The translucent white belled SU-26/Champ motor which is the lower power and the Black belled Polecat/Mosquito/T-28/Mustang/4 site/XP/E300/Corsair/Spitfire motor which is the higher power.

ALL 8.4mm Airplane motors use the same 9 tooth pinion & Spur gear/1.5mm shaft (Except for the Mosquito, which has a reverse rotation shaft on one side), but there are few different gearboxes depending on how they mount in the plane.

There are 3 different 8.4mm wire lengths, so far: Polecat/Sukhoi/Champ is the shortest, Mustang/T-28 is mid range and 4 site/Extra 300 is the longest. To put an XP motor in a Mustang or 4 site, you would have to extend the wires, though the motor is basically the same.

For 6mm motors, there are Cessna 210/Citabria motors (weakest, no plug), Vapor/Ember 2 motor (Long wires, plug, midrange power), Kyosho Hyper motor (Kyosho plug, midrange power), J-3 cub Motor (Highest 6mm power, short wires)

The Albatros uses a 7mm motor with 12000Kv, The SE5a has a 12900Kv motor and a revise gearbox and both have more power than the 6mm J-3, but slightly less than the 8.4mm Champ motor.
