R4-2m

I never understood the 2m suffix because the model is 100inches. Nevertheless, does any one know where I can obtain a copy of this plan?

When Dave Jones died, the subject of his Western Plan Service became unavailable.

More information here; http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261428

I still have an interest in the R-2 and the Wolf plans if anyone out there has a set.
Willing to pay for printing and shipping.

Couple of model worthy of building.

I've seen that thread before and it seems no one got the rights to them after Dave died.
The Raven is available from Model Builder (Northrup) but we'll just have to keep our eyes open for a Wolf and R-2 plan for copying.

The Jones estate has been contacted by numerous people including me regarding the commercial rights to Dave's designs. The amount asked for by the estate was way beyond reasonable to make any business out of. Unfortunate but true.

I have numerous plans that I got from Dave when I visited his house back about 1973.

Any for the R42M? Just what are the legal ramifications of copying plans like this? I've bought plans from a designer and then gone to Kinkos to scale them to my liking. The staff won't assist you if they see the little c on the plan.

I have no qualms copying plans for personal use. I do not condone copying them for profit or as gifts to others. Being a manufacturer and designed I know how I would feel if that happened to my work. Just like I hate to see the guys on eBay selling copies of plans or copies of magazine plan pages. eBay does not seem to care.

Why was it in vain??
Mark just said he has no problem making a copy or sending you a copy for YOUR OWN PERSONAL USE....

Am I missing something here?
Did you want to mass-produce plans, or just build a plane? I say, ask Mark for a plan, and let dust fly....
Post some pictures too along the way. Looks like acool plane, and obviously no lack of square inches!

Not the way I read it.
He didn't have problem with making a copy, in theory. Neither do I.

How about it Mark??
What did you mean precisely?

That 3M "Sunbird" looks pretty cool; it was ahead of its time in design, I think.

I have plans for a Standard Plank, and the Little plank. I have a Little Plank that I scratch built years ago....

Anyone ask B2 Streamlines? Maybe they have a lead or know of a similar design, or have enough specs that you could design something similar.

This is not quite as elliptical, but it's close. The constant cord center section might make things easier.
