The concept wants to be different. You will know more soon! I think first and confirm if I have the expected results, it should be a small revolution.

Hi Ludo!

I'm looking forward to begin learning to sew my own parafoils and I was wondering if you would have some recommendations on how to approach this?..
Can you recommend a specific parafoil to start off with and learn on?
Is there any special tool I'd need to manufacture parafoils? I do have acces to an ordinary household sewingmachine (and though I'd have to improve my skills, my grandmother teached me how to sew as a kid), will it be capable of doing the job?
I'm especially anxious about making the risers correctly, any advice on a method? BTW is there a program to calculate riser-lenght in general, that you'd recommend?

I'm very open to suggestions, but I might be more interested in going towards being able to make parafoils, that are able to handle wind well (I live in Denmark atm and wind is an issue). Though I'm quite interested in making smaller single-skin foils for indoor too... In any case, any type of parafoil would be a beginning.

Kind regards, happy landings

Chris

PS Si jamais que cela est plus simple pour toi, t'es toujours le bienvenu de me répondre en français, mais je me suis dit que d'autres seraient sans doute intéressé par le sujet, d'où ce post en englais.

Chrizz Hi!
This new building will be easier to sew. Strongly that I can test! I use a translator on my side.
I think it will be possible to propose a wing with little panels that can fly inside on the same principle.
The new wing should suporter more wind, we'll see in a few days time I finish.

I will be watching this thread... It's a different approach and it looks promising.

I have good news, I have not put a lot of PVC compared to what I expected (ideas came meantime). It remains brakes do. The good news is that it swells and it stands at the zenith! I will not cry victory too early, but it looks good ... News to come ...

Irregular wind! Reinforcement to put on the second panel to the leading edge and it will be perfect! We see that the ears are not yet well under pressure at times.
