BAE hawk EPP 950mm build (for a friend)

so after seeing my 900mm epp f-18 in action, i have been commissioned to build a BAE hawk for a friend if mine.. ended up not being able to pick it up so i kept it

specs:

wingspan 950mm
lenght 1150mm
weight 1.2kg

motor: NTM 28-36 2200kv B/O
esc: turnigy plush 60amp esc
battery: 3000mah 3s lipo (to start with) might get up to a 4000mah3s
servos: TG9e 9g all round apart from the elevator >> turnigy 3kg 19g servo

control surfaces:
ailerons
rudder
elevator (full flying control surface <same as the real hawk>)

the f-18 of this similar weight and size is fitted with a 2500kv motor putting out 450watts WOT.

the tested motor puts out a whopping 700watts at 60amps with a 9x6 cut down to a 6x6.. this is over the limits of the motor by 5amps.. but at 55amps the motor still turns out over 600watts.

should be a lil rocket, as the hornet pushes 100kph in level flight putting out 460watts on a 6x5 apc prop..

here is also a pic of the proposed paint scheme..

and so, airframe parts have all been removed from the sheets and pinned together to give a preview to the shear size of this one

got over my cold today thankfully and decided it was time to shape up the hawk..

have now finshed the basic shape. still needs intakes and exhausts to be cut and moulded.

cant wait till 2moro i can start fitting and playing around with the electronics.

Wow looks like the start of a beautiful hawk , I always wanted the black/grey demonstrator version myself but ended up buying the powers 50mm hawk and doing a custom spray job.

Good luck.

so i was able to get the day to myself yesterday, which meant i could also make a mess of the appartment as long as i have it cleaned up by the time someone gets home lol. due to this fact i had the time to get almost all of the electronics fitted and finished.

have included a few pics of how i installed the alloy wingspar, along with other pics of parts and points of interest around the plane.

the intakes and exhausts flow through the rear half of the fuse and act as cooling to the esc and motor.

under the canopy there is almost too much room as you can see with the battery fitted and receiver pushed back there is still almost enough room for my foot.. haha..

also the elevator throw's are a little extreme. (see pics) ill have to tone them down a notch so they stay on in flight.

hoping to maiden it as soon as the snow stops fallin here
