enough of this lipoly nonsense

Geez, I come here and all I see are lipoly threads... Change is bad.. We should all stick to the old red SCR cells and be happy.. no-one's house or car will burn down and everyone can use their old chargers too...

Well said, as he types from his computer, rather than from his manual typewriter, and delivered by horse and buggy.

But my NiCd's will not explode and burn when I draw too much current...sure, I could parallel enough LiPolys to get 65 Amps but when, not if, the great conflagration happens, my bird is toast. And flaming toast at that.

No, I will stick to NiCd, possibly going to NiMH if I can get the current.

I like it I figure the tension is building - - - sort of like an overcharge ballooning cell, eh ?

I'm with Busey...no, wait...I'm with tic!

I'm with tic on this one! I run all my models, from my little PCW to my Logo 10 on silver oxide watch batteries (Duracell number PX76A675AB to be exact). Sure, it looks like I have a case of Mentos in all my models, and the discharge rate stinks, but it's very safe. When the juice runs out, I just toss 'em and solder up a few more rolls. No worries about charging/overcharging/cell imbalance, etc.

Works every time!

Hey, I just love the sound of my Zagi on LiPo's, a musical high pitched whine, just music!!!!!

And I now can chase around the silly glider pilots for over 20 minutes before landing.

Ahhhh the beautifull whine of the Zagi on Lipo's.

Zagi! Zagi! Zagi!

I'm just glad there are people left to buy all these "safe" battery packs I'm about to unload...

Looks to me like the availability of the new fangled stuff is dropping the prices of the old tech. Wonder why that would be :-)
