What are some good yet cheap FPV quadcopters?

Hi, I am new to FPV drones, and I would like to know what are some quality, affordable FPV setups. I have a small budget of around $100-$300, so I'd prefer to go for a cheap screen setup rather than goggles.

You will be hard pressed to set up a complete setup for under $300. Are you looking for a whole set, i.e. fpv system, control, and the aircraft? If so you can look into something like like a used Phantom, but you might also consider expanding your budget so you aren't wasting your money. Hope this helps!

Can you solder, and do you have a computer? And do you have an rc radio already?

Also, your title refers to quadcopters, then you say fpv drones.
Drones can be anything. Planes boats etc....

I assume you are interested quad copters?

do not buy a quad larger than 280mm! imho. These miniquads are fun and extremely capable, Phantom is not

I like the Nighthawk kits, which can be had with complete FPV system for like $300. I fly a Nighthawk frame and it is a quality item.

but then RCTimer has this PNF miniquad racer

Immersion has this very nice one

Helipal has this one

these are all high speed aerobatic racing quads, which are not hard to fly in stabilize mode. very crash resistant and take small cheap batteries. perfect marriage with FPV system, the closest state to nirvana while flying any RC aircraft today

then add some Quanum goggles, props and lipos, ImmersionRC antennas and a $25 receiver and you are complete

WLToys V666 or V686, complete, but 100% complete ! setup for less than $150. Ready to fly next hour after unpacking.
Some could say they are toys, but they should rather try to offer alternatives instead

If you're willing to solder, a basic quad will cost you about $200. The Quanum FPV goggles kit will cost you another $100. And a 9XR+FrSky radio will add another $100. And that doesn't include the batteries and tools.

And, asking as my friend, who just bought a V666, what all of this would offer me better than my purchase ?
Hard to reply, the gap is too big...

Depends on whether he just wants a quad, or a hobby.
