I didn't tell her it was a pin drop of Gorilla Glue for the total repairs, but I hope to at least get a few weeks of free flight.

She's also thinner and shorter than her sister. So, the Drifter can buzz around at maximum efficiency!

You know Thos, you're getting quite a collection of dolls, is there something you'd like to tell us? It's ok, we'll understand ;-)

Lol! Hey guys. Sorry about the private video. I corrected the oversight!

Here it is again.

Scale is making it look real! dolls included! At least if they aren't too heavy.

If I had a bunch of wires and FPV gear in there. The on board view would look more like a flying science project. Rather than fooling you, "for just an instant" that it's a real Aircam or Drifter in the air...

Then I would run into a "non scale" fence, and ruin the illusion!

If you put her head on a servo it could turn with the rudder and look even more real.

Forgive me for being lazy...but I'd really like to ask...why is the Drifter the plane of choice for so many FPV pilots? Is it many mounting points and a lot of easily accessible space for FPV equipment? Or is it something else?

Yep, those are pretty much the main reasons, plus it can handle the wind quite well and is low cost and easy to repair. There are some mods that need to be made to it though. Look at what Ican3d has done, just some simple stuff and she'll be on her way. Also if you look at the conditions that Ican3d and others have flown in you'll see she takes some abuse and keeps on flying!

This looks like fun! Was looking at the Runcam and the photos posted by ican3d caught my eye. Ordering one now..

Taking awhile to get through everyone's mods for FPV..

Thanks ican3d for the pan/tilt mount! That should really help.

later,
Mike

I will eventually do a front view, with a lens extended beyond the nose. Flying at you. Gear in the view will be a no no!

Thanks Mike. I easily impress myself. My landings and hers are not usually quite as good. Like this morning. Wanting to fly again at the elements school. The field was all locked up at 6:30 AM! I had to improvise and try and use the small parking lot!

The only other time that I tried landing on that little space, with a high approach that has to clear the fence surrounding the field; Was with the STOL Wilga. Which, somehow worked okay. But had flaps... And a super slow flyer...

I; I mean we... Tried to slow the drifter down at the end, but the steep approach was pretty killer!

Thanks Mike. The damage has been repaired. I considered docking pay for the charges. But it was a small space. I don't know what else she could have done?!
